I wasn't calling him a bust. I just couldn't remember who it was that came out of Henninger and went to Michigan, and couldn't remember how well he did there. Frankly, if they don't pick Syracuse, a kind of forget about them, and certainly don't follow them.

Four time all state. Gatorade national athlete of the year. Nys player of the year. And when he chose to play football, he played it at SU. In the context of this article/discussion, who cares if it was for only one year?

Marquis Walkers teammate Dave Davis went to Stanford never to be heard from again. I actually watched him blow out an ankle going up for a breakaway dunk at Oswego St Black Student Union basketball tournament. Damian Mallory was on the same team although I think he went to Syracuse never to be heard from again. Mo Brown went to Rutgers only to walk in naked into some girls dorm room and now dominates the CNY rec basketball league. I think they may have had another D1 athlete, but other then Marquis Walker that could be the most disappointing HS class in the history of sports.

Looking at the NY players who did go to SU only reinforces to me that to be truly successful, SU can't rely on home state players to be successful. Yes, there have been some who've been successful (Jones Bros., Hogue, etc), but quite a few of them weren't game changers. It shows again what an asinine article the bozos wrote for the PS on recruiting your home state.
