No. 2 Syracuse
The Orange dusted Colgate on Saturday in eye-popping fashion - just what their fans were hoping to see following the Notre Dame loss in the ACC final. Syracuse gets excellent depth of scoring from two equal midfields but must tighten its face-off game and defensive midfield if it wants to hoist the gold trophy. Syracuse will host the winner of Wednesday's play-in game between Bryant and Siena. They beat Bryant 12-7 last year in the first round, surviving a Kevin Massa face-off clinic.
Play-in selections: Bryant / Siena
Bryant won the NEC for the second straight year and Siena captured the MAAC. They are scary up the middle with the countries best FOGO/goalie combo. This looks like a great game with the winner advancing to play Syracuse in the Carrier Dome on Sunday night after the graduation ceremonies are cleaned up. Siena is battle-tested after an arduous non-conference schedule featuring Syracuse, St John's, Hofstra and Albany.
