Rakeem Christmas, Michael Gbinije embark on Estonia tour

Who knew that Iowa and Northern Colorado were on the "East Coast"?

3 for 25 from three? I bet russdoucheculious took atleast 12 3 attempts.

The same people that think Syracuse doesn't leave New York State.

Estonia is now part of the vast Orange Empire, thus a defacto home game.

I love to see our guys represent like this. Those kids probably knew we were in the Final Four. :)

Well in fairness, Estonia starts with "ES" and the ESF campus is located at SU. Thus, home game.

Looks like they won the first game.
Box score, but I don't have a secret decoder, although it looks like Gbinije had 0 points, Rak had 3 points.

Looks like Rak had 3 rebounds and Mike G had 2 boards.
Will try to find a box in English.
Looks like they both had limited play, 11 minutes for Rak, 15 for Mike G.
They did have some steals, but best way to figure out is the following link, translate the page to English at the top first, then look at the play by play.

Woof.

smith is a ball hog at times so it doesnt surprise me he dominated the game with 18 shots.

Added in another thread but here goes:

Go to recaps and enjoy!
Aside from this, please read the article mentioning Gbinije's success this game.
Mike Gbinije – 14pts, 10reb, 4ast, 5 stl

Full box.

Looks like Gbinije was 7 for 8 inside the arc, 0-2 from three.
Both he and Rak played 26 minutes, Russ Smith was in foul trouble and although original article mentions Christmas played great D, where's our Estonian box score translator when we need him/her?
To add, Rak was 3 for 3 FGs.

Which one is blocked shots?

Boys had a bad outing in a game that if they won, would have clinched the tourney victory for them.

Same as the first game, 16 minutes for Mike G, 12 minutes for Rak.
Can't expect them to play well when they don't get run, hah?
Meanwhile, Russ Smith 8/18 from 2, 2/6 from 3, 32 minutes ball hoggin' his way to a loss. Taking way too many shots, so opposing coach must know where the ball is going.
I think he's a great player, but who's coaching these kids? These guys?

Very similar to the first game against Belarus, which they barely won 71-68. In 33 minutes Russ Smith (PG) made about 30 attempts scoring 29 points (7/18 from 2, 3/7 from 3, and about 5 more attempts yielding 10 free throws, 6/10). In the previuos game against Slovakia, Smith was in foul trouble, so the team won by a big margin with a balanced attack. In this game Smith played 32 min and once again made about 32 attempts scoring 30 points (8/18 from 2, 2/6 from 3, and at least 8 more attempts yielding 17 free throws for which he was 8/17).

Someone should have told our boys that it was going to be Team Russ Smith vs. the other 3 nations. What's the deal?

smith coming back for next year could end up being bad for both he and louisville. Without siva i can see a lot of 25-30 shot nights for russ. Add to that no dieng and i think the cards will struggle even with blackshear, harrell and behanan.

Who is the coach of the team?

I am beginning to hope that Gbinije finds mismatches every night at the two. If Good teams can afford the offensive loss by puting taller guys on on the perimeter on him that will only make things easier for Fair and Grant/Roberson. Not the stats of a isolation player or a 3 point shooter. I like Dajuans offensive prospects this offeseason better right now as a second go to guy. Hope Gbinije settles down and starts knocking down some 3's.

I like the guys out there laughing and having fun but we need a go to scoring SG. Someone who can do the things this syracuse team needs. Same goes with Ron Cooney and BJ. Its serious time.

I might have to actually take time off from my fandom if Russ Smith was our PG! TAlk about running through the range of emotions every 2min and then breaking something . . . . . . . .

Did The East Coast team lose?
Yeah, they lost.
If they won, they would have ended up in 1st place in the Four Nations Cup.
Instead, due to point differential, they end up in 3rd place. Check out the facebook link above. It explains all.
