RIP Charlie Watts

RIP Charlie Watts. A Rolling Stone making it to the ripe old age of 80 is a miracle in itself.

I think Keith will never die. RIP Charlie!!! The Stones, IMHO, are the greatest Rock and Roll band of our generation. We'll, maybe tied with The Who.

Crazy to think, two nights at the Dome in 1989, they were doing a sound check while in class across the way.

Steel Wheels Tour. Great show in the Dome. We were in the 10th row center. To me, Charlie and Bill Wyman were the best rhythm section in rock and roll.

The acoustics in the Dome are pretty lousy, with sound echoing off the concrete walls, standing waves, etc. At one point, Mick said (and I can still hear his heavy Brit accent as I type this) "it sounds like we're playing in a bloody bathroom!"
