Update on Syracuse S commit Marquise Blair includes all-star games, academic situation, Pitt interest: http://bit.ly/1CmA71h

"I do think (Blair) still feels very adamant about Syracuse and comfortable with the decision that he's made," Haas said.
The bigger question mark is likely Blair's academic situation. Haas said Blair has made significant strides in the classroom and referenced multiple B's on the transcript in front of him during the phone call.
"Once below-average grades are now above-average grades," Haas said. "He's really buckled down himself personally. As a coach and educator that makes you proud."
Still, Haas said Blair's qualification will be close. He scored well on the ACT and will continue to take it, but the key will be increasing his GPA enough this final semester to meet the sliding-scale standard held by the NCAA Clearninghouse, Haas said."

Great news.

Can't wait until OSU or some other B1G schools creep in.

Who like Michigan?

For a variety of reasons it's never a good thing a kid has academic issues, but for us it could help us land him.

Obviously I want this kid playing in the Dome, regardless, it is refreshing to see that the kid has listened to his coach, teachers, family and schools and committed himself to improving academically instead of relying on his God given talents and accepting the easy way at Big State U (or any SEC school).

We really need Blair to get qualified, and make it up here. I can almost guarantee if he wasn't such an academic risk he would have offers from all over the country.

Really excited to get this kid wearing orange and laying the wood down in the secondary. Watched his film again this afternoon and he's certainly a bright spot in this class. Gotta think he's gonna get a chance to play early and often given the depth we have at safety right now.

We really need Marquise this year considering we don't have anyone that has quality time on the field at Safety. It sounds like he is doing everything he can to keep his grades up to get here. I think he plays as a Freshman. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. We can't afford to lose him to a JUCO and then maybe never get him. Keep working at it Marquise, we are pulling for you.
