Strickland broke more arm tackles in this game than he has all year. What was the difference and can he sustain this level of play? He was really the difference in those final two drives that put them away. If he can keep upright after first contact, I don't think we'll ever have to punt again.

Its what happens when you wear out a defense. Va tech was defeated before the clock read zero.

I think the difference was they were tired. Our tempo finally wore someone out and it allowed us to Shut the door

His high school highlight videos showed that kind of runner. Ran harder and broke more tackles the closer he got to the goal line. And he did that at 180 lbs! Maybe he's starting to feel like he's arrived.

he is fine if he can get past the LOS. there were a bunch of plays that he didnt thru the line where the D had no one in the backend, he got arm tackled or tripped several times where it could have been really big plays.

i don't recall anyone able to move a pile like he can after contact. at least in a long while...

Yeah, he is a strong dude. Great ability to keep those legs moving and strong upper body. Another year of S&C will only make him better.

Played great and not trying to take anything away from him, but some of his long runs late were a result of Va Tech trying to strip the ball instead of just wrapping up. They were desperate and needed to force a TO.

Great game regardless and it doesn't change the box score. Let's see if we can keep the running game respectable.
