I really liked:
American Graffiti
Bang the Drum Slowly
The Day of the Jackal
Emperor of the North Pole
The Iceman Cometh
Jesus Christ Superstar
The Paper Chase
Paper Moon
Save the Tiger
The Sting
Theatre of Blood
The Three Musketeers
The Way We Were

But the Steve goes to: Papillon

The dramatic ending:

Papillon- Ending

Love Papillon. wonder how good the remake will be

the Sting. has everything though
The paper chase

Walking Tall.. who doesnt love a big stick

Enter the Dragon. BRUCE

Serpico.. really well done

Magnum Force..

The Train Robbers

Good year. The Day of the Jackal might be my favorite. Way more suspenseful and better paced than the remake.

The Long Goodbye is fantastic. Mean Streets is pretty good. Soylent Green is wacky. The Sting is a classic. The Paper Chase is good, I'm glad to see that others appreciate it. Serpico is another of of the great 1970s New-York-as-hellhole movies that captures the era and also has a solid Pacino performance. And Live and Let Die is a nice Bond debut for my favorite Bond (and also sneaks in with some timely story arcs and settings, both spending time in gritty New York and jumping on the uncomfortable blaxploitation bandwagon).

Papillon, I'm embarrassed to say, I sat through once when it ran on TCM. It didn't grab me. Worth another try, I guess.
