War Admiral was a son of Man O’ War, although, (despite what you saw in the movie “Seabiscuit”), he was no where near the size, (Seabiscuit, a grandson of Man O’ War, was virtually the same height and heavier), But he was nearly as dominant- until the match race with Seabiscuit. In those days, Eastern, (War Admiral) and Western, (Seabiscuit), horse racing were like two different sports- they didn’t mix much and this was kind of like the first Super Bowl. War Admiral was born at Faraway Farm in Kentucky, and was owned by Samuel D. Riddle. His jockey was Charles Kutsinger. His record in 26 races was 21-3-1.
