My wife thinks it might be because he's in so much pain they can't switch him from IV pain relief to pills.

Usually if a bone needs to be set they keep them overnight. Also for the pain meds.

Babers said in the post game presser that Perkins would be staying overnight. To me that indicates at least a broken leg. They probably want to make sure the cast sets hard and he doesn't have any adverse reactions to any medication they are giving him.

You can tell the joint at his knee and ankle were out of place just by looking at the way his leg was angled. Definitely the career ending kind of injury; unfortunate.

Yes it was one of those "We're not going to show the replay because you don't want to see it" moments unfortunately.
