Beecher Joins The Back Row
Come the fall, Abby Beecher will be joining an already deep group of defensive specialists for the Orange. A native of Penfield, New York, the 5-5 libero will look to add depth to the Syracuse back row.

'Cuse Coaching Staff On Beecher
"We are excited that Abby will be joining our team with the class of 2015. She is a local recruit from Rochester, NY and the kid just bleeds Orange. Abby is a hardworking and determined athlete and we know that she the kind of player who will come into the gym everyday looking for ways to push herself to be better. Abby comes from a strong high school and club program and we know that will carry her over to our level of training. It will be exciting to see how she further develops as a player competing in the ACC, one of
the top volleyball conferences now in the country."

Why Beecher Chose Syracuse
"I have dreamed of going to Syracuse since I was 6 years old and I watched my sister head off to SU, and I have been dreaming of playing volleyball at the highest level even longer than that. I grew up wearing Syracuse Orange, and have always known it was where I wanted to be. There is no better school than Syracuse, to challenge me academically and athletically, helping me become the best volleyball player I can be, while obtaining an amazing education so I will be prepared to face the world!"

Keeping Success Close To Home
A four year member of the varsity volleyball team at Penfield High School, Beecher led the Patriots to a 36-6 record and a trip to the New York State Class AA title game her senior season. As a freshman, the club brought home the NYS Class AA Championship.

Beecher holds both the career and season records for digs at Penfield High School, with 1,500 over her four years and 613 her senior season. In her final year she was named All-Monroe Country Division-I Libero of the Year after finishing runner-up the previous two seasons. Beecher was also named to both the NYS Class AA First Team All-State and All-Greater Rochester First Team her senior season.

A Well-Rounded Addition
A four year winner of the Scholar-Athlete Award, Beecher contributed more than just digs to her team. She finished her career with 161 aces, 121 assists and 26 kills. Along with playing for her high school team, she was also a member of Paradigm Club Volleyball.
