What song was No. 1 on your birthday?

(They Long to Be) Close to You by The Carpenters.

Ah, The Carpenters. The duo nobody will admit to liking but at the same time knowing all the lyrics to their hits.

Believe it or not, I heard "We've Only Just Begun" on the way home from work tonight. That song has taken on tremendous poignancy when one recalls Karen Carpenter's long struggle with anorexia.

It's a great song. Didn't like the Carpenters back then, but I love their music now.

Tears of a Clown - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Nice!

I looked up each of my kids birthdays and thought...my gosh have we regressed musically. Each song was by one artist featuring another artist (or two)...and garbage as far as I'm concerned.

Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodby by Steam

the cover for the single is, uh, well judge for yourselves
