A number of steps are open improvement and firing Giardi isn't really one of them IMO.

1. Second base
2. third base(Another starter)
3. right field for defense
4. Left field hole if Brett is traded.
5. ??????

Grab some dope like Skip Schumacher to play second base for a season and act as a utility guy.
