I believe Sayers was Kansas. McConkey and McCallum were both Navy I think. Bulger was WVU? White feels like one I should know but I'm not confident

I knew 4, 6-10 others I never heard of

On a side note, my friend's dad, Sid Micek, was a QB for KU when Sayers played against SU.

Fine effort. Thunder Thornton went to Nebraska and played for the Cornhuskers in a loss to SU in the early 1960s.

Luckman went to Columbia. Hall of Fame QB, one of the all-time greats. There was a time when Syracuse used to play Columbia in football every season, usually at the end of the season. They were to Syracuse then what Boston College is now.
Shula went to John Carroll. They beat Syracuse in 1950 with Don on the team. Don Shula recalls defeating SU in 1950
Rathman was a FB on the Nebraska team that lost to Syracuse in 1984. They had won 26 regular season games in a row...

OK I'll bite: w/o Google
1. Sid - I don't know. One of those old-time powers like Fordham or one of the Ivies.
2. Huge Green - Dominant Pitt DE or was it LB?
3. Jim Thorpe - an Indian, a Carlisle Indian. Talk about your old powers. Played by Burt Lancaster in the movie.
4. Don Shula - Don't know. Another old power or more likely an SEC team. Perhaps the same college as Garo Yepremian: None University
5. Bart Starr - same as Namath, Stabler. Alabama. He QBed against us in the '52 Orange Bowl I think.
6. Tom Rathman - On the '84 #1 Nebraska team I saw lose to SU 17-9. Still Unbelievable.
7. Boomer - University of Under Armor
8. Jim Kelly - Not Clemson or Mississippi like his son. Saw him lose to SU as a freshman in Buffalo in '79. I'll let others guess this one. Schnellenberger his coach?
9. Germany Schultz - University of Berlin? Schultz? "I know nothing. I see nothing."
10. Jim Swink - Vassar, Wellesley, never heard of him. Wasn't he in Breaking Bad?
