- Because we are SU. We’re flying high, think we’re back, nothing but blue and orange skies ahead. You know what happens next. (Remember when it was 38-24 at halftime?)

- Dino Babers has never won a November game as Syracuse’s coach. At the beginning of this season I asked him if we now had enough depth to compete for a full 12 game schedule and win in November. He said that we’ll have that kind of depth in “about a year and half”. That’s next year, not this year.

- We are averaging 43 points a game. That’s how many we scored last year against Wake Forest. And we lost by 21. With three of our top four cornerbacks hurting and plenty of film of use giving up big plays even before they were hurt, that could happen again.

- Greg Dortch didn’t even play in last year’s game and he’s the deacon’s most explosive player. He has 60 catches for 754 yards and 5TDs, one a 54 yarder. He’s also returned two punts for scores. Remember that big return UNC got? It could happen again. He also returns kick-offs at 22.4 a shot.

- We are always concerned with stopping the run. Matt Colburn had a huge game against Louisville last week with 20 carries for 243 yards and 3 scores. He had basically the same day against us last year, 31 carries for 237 yards and 2 scores, including a 76 yarder.

- The explosion against Louisville was the third time this year the Deacs have scored 50+ points. Our last three games have been 37-44, 40-37 and 51-41 against teams with a combined record of 10-12. This is another team we will have to out-score. You’re going to play .500 doing that. In any sport extremely high or low scoring games put a lot of pressure on a team. Either the offense or the defense has to be perfect, with no lapses. Really good teams are good on both sides of the ball. We aren’t.

- There’s a lot of talk about turnover margin. We are +9. They are -2. Do we really want to spin that roulette wheel? We were +8 after the Clemson game. We are +1 since.

- Our record the last time we played our four final regular season opponents is a combined 0-4. We’ve scored 100 points and they’ve scored 212. This season could go downhill in a hurry.

Colburn and Dortch are no better than NC States counterparts & we know how that ended.

I remember Dino saying that about depth. Thanks for digging that up?

It was 38-24 at halftime.

Wake had 371 yards rushing and 363 yards passing. lol.

I hate it when I like these "why we will lose..." posts.
