I hope we’re still looking for another forward and some shooting, beyond the PG. We have Bell and hopefully a better JJ but with Lampkin inside, I think another perimeter threat that he can dish out to would be huge. Not sure where that fits though.

Getting kids to the NBA is not a bad thing. If we have someone play well enough to go get drafted, that's great. Better than watching them walk in the portal.

Davis seems to have a strong midrange game. That could play well off of Lampkin and perhaps dishing to Bell and JJ on the wings. The type of guy that would’ve destroyed us as a member of Pitt against the zone.

If we get Lampkin, as long as we add more shooters, that offense can work. Reynolds would be great and maybe Moore will be ready right away, but another shooter at the forward spot would be necessary. I'd love to see Bell replaced with a more all-around player, but that likely isn't happening.

One of the reasons our D was so bad this year was because our perimeter guys got torched often and then we had no shot blocker inside to cover for them. Now, we’ll still have the bad perimeter defenders but with a potentially worse defensive Center, if this Lampkin news is true. LOL

While that is certainly true, Red has the opportunity to completely turn over the roster ASAP. He didn't really do it last year, but now is the time. We can't merely replace departing players. We have to upgrade on everyone.

Yes, he shot really well in the 1st half of the NC state game (and then couldn’t get shots off in the 2nd) and the two games against Louisville. He didn’t exactly light it up in games against Oregon, Pitt, UNC… Let’s not pretend he added anything beyond the 3 point shooting and some chase down...

Well if UConn was going through a head coaching change, and we were offering a promotion to someone close to Red on their staff, then I guess it’d be comparable. Again, nobody is leaving UConn to coach here unless it’s as HC.

Competition?! Bell should be recruited over. We can’t win with him playing so many minutes and being so incapable of doing anything except hit 3’s. You simply can’t have perimeter players that can’t dribble, pass, defend or doing anything except catch and shoot.

Any other program, I’d agree. But UConn seems to have some level of luck that is incomprehensible to the human mind. They very well could get those dudes back with a big NIL push and the potential of the unheard of 3-peat.

At least Newton, Spencer (I think) and then hopefully Clingen and Castle will be gone next year. But knowing UConn, all that can come back will, and they’ll 3-peat to become the greatest program of the past 50 years.

Pretty much spot on UConn has a great system, on both ends, with kids that fit perfectly and play great D. We may not even have a system on either end.
