Seeing Rhino in w the RB’s….

One of these things, is not like the others…. :p

With Linton’s inability to gain weight, if he was just a few inches taller, he could play the 5 for our hoops team. ;)

Dom Foster & Rob Hanna need to eat some sammiches.

Depth at RB, WR and TE is a major concern.

Meh. TE, I’ll grant you.
Could use another guy, maybe 2.
(Rhino could maybe do that, since he’s played every position other than QB and kicker)
Villari or one of the other large backup QB’s could be the FBP (Football Player) role in Anae’s O, who often lines up as a TE, and then trickeration ensues.

A 4th &/or 5th scholarship RB prolly wouldn’t want to wait around for their shot, 1-2-3 seasons from now.
Peña could be a decent “break glass in case of emergency” RB option.
But - given that Tucker is RB1, and we have 2 solid backups for him, I’m not overly worried.

We have TONS of WR’s.
Warm bodies doesn’t necessarily mean “depth”, but I’m pretty confident that Beck/Anae & the new WR coach can up the productivity from that group, top to bottom.

I didn't realize Stephon Thompson was that big. Our LB size is the best it's been since the Hogue and Smith years of Marrone. And, holy cow, I had read about Hough gaining weight, but I didn't expect 315. I assume he loses a little of that over the next year. If he has kept most of his speed, he could be a monster.

Stefon @ 250, Wax @ 240, and Kel @ 230.

Mikel said in recent interview he is “still moving well at his new weight” and when asked what that was, said - 230.

Thompson is basically DE sized now, which will help a lot with both pass rush & run stopping.

Yeah, I had heard about Wax's and Mikel's weights. I just hadn't seen Thompson's. I hope the dline can hold up enough to let them do their thing

Our LBs are excellent but there is no proven depth behind them - they are going to need to be Ironmen.

NONE of our 3 current starters were “proven” when they all earned PT right away.

Dudes like McDonald, Roon, & Sparrow, have what it takes to contribute behind the starters.

Kadin Bailey is a Frosh who likely will end up being a stud for us.
Ditto for Mekhi Mason.

Isn't that the way it works? Young guys learn as backups before stepping into starting roles. We have to have confidence that the staff has recruited guys of similar caliber to the starters until proven otherwise.
