the New York State unemployment office.

First person you fire is Will Hicks as we must be one of the weakest and least flexible team in the FBS.

SECOND IS THE WHOLE GROUP THAT COACHES ON THE OFFENSIVE SIDE AS WE ARE PATHETIC TO THE CORE

pathetic display tonight for sure. I'm ready to hand in my season seat to the first person who will take it, which makes me think I'm crazy so of course I would never do that. I think I'll just take the gas pipe instead

I was actually thinking as I was leaving the Dome, 'Do I even want to come to the game next week after this debacle?' Now of course I will go but maybe I will just wear all black.

Might be a closer shade of color to what the team is wearing.

Will Hicks is one of the most respected S&C coaches in the country.

There was some dude on here offering to buy everyone's season tix...

I've been a season ticket holder for the last 12 years and last night I had to leave early. I just couldn't take it anymore. I can't see going next week. It's just not worth the aggravation. Last night was like GROB. The only difference is most of Shafer's players play hard.

Hicks has been here since 2000 and the only period I can remember where we wore the opposing team down was when HCDM was coach which leads me to believe that team conditioning during that period was more on Marrone than Hicks.
When grob was coach our teams constantly faded after the 1st quarter. Last night Bobby Petrino said; "That's a good win for us...Our defense played extremely well … Our offense hung in there. We were patient. We wore them down."
Hicks may be respected but his results on the field are questionable at best.

There's a big difference between getting great pure athletes and keeping them conditioned and getting less than stellar athletes and getting them up and able to compete. That's what Hicks has and continues to do at SU. It's not like SU's getting these top-25 recruiting classes with pure strength and speed. Getting those athletes will make any S&C coach look good. SU was what... in the 90s, 80s, 70s when Marrone first got there? Hicks' ability helped make those teams develop into 8-win squads. Give him a recruiting cycle with Shafe's talent to judge him.

ETA: there's a reason future NFL HOFer Dwight Freeney comes back to him during the off season when he could get any strength coach to help train him.

I'm not talking about talent but the current state of conditioning. When Marrone was here we were able to hang with and even beat some more talented teams by wearing them down. Prior to HCDM and now after, teams are wearing us down and Hicks has been here the whole time. Maybe it's not on Hicks and more on the HC but poor conditioning causes poor execution and technique when you are gassed. When Marrone took over "Hicks said the tone for such efficiency was set by Marrone shortly after he arrived". http://blog.syracuse.com/orangefootball/2009/08/syracuse_university_football_t_8.html

I am actually thinking of going to the tailgate my friends and I always have but leaving to go home and watch the game. First time in a long time I have actually thought that way. Very disappointed right now. Feel like we took a major step backwards against a team that everyone thought we should beat.

Freeny comes back for the power lifting, the rest of the year he's with a real pro trainer.

our players get slower and ridged under his year round program....reason why our knee injuries are high.

And what were the 220 lb. lift the NFL combine uses? If I remember correctly some were pretty bad for Syracuse players being tested

Hal Luther was the difference and that is why Marrone brought him to Buffalo and not the other.
