The NCAA might never respond to SU. They'll just let this float off into the mist.

I'm not sure we'd end up dancing without another win prior to Greensboro, but we'd be right there, at the very least.
 
I think if we beat Virginia and NC State to close, we would be a guaranteed tourney team. I also think we would of at least won our first game of the ACC tournament.
 
Is it possible the NCAA was in fact waiting to see how our season went to see if this self-ban carried enough weight, and might have stiffened the penalty even more than whatever they hand out if we had finished further from the bubble? Either way I still feel bad for Christmas. As much as I like JB I'd rather him sit out a season or a couple of post seasons instead of this post season ***. This team looks capable of making a run with the number of guys who have stepped up of late. We've just taken out a 2/3 seed and and a 3/4/5 seed.

I do too, and I feel bad for us, we did nothing wrong.
 
Remember in 07 (or 08) when all we had to do was beat a Top 10 GTown team to be in? And then we beat them soundly. Yeah. I'm just saying, any committee the NCAA puts together, whether selection, infractions, or bake sale is going to kick us in the jimmy at all possible opportunities.

a road win over a top-10 team weighs alot more. and that 07 team had a few clunker losses on the year as well, this team has 0 of those

Yeah, I think the NCAA is waiting to see if SU would make the tourney if eligible.

And yes, I've said multiple times I wish SU self imposed or negotiated other penalties instead of a post-season ban.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it's been awhile: Not only do your posts make sense, but you have possibly my favorite avatar on the board, making your posts "like magnets" if I'm paying attention.

Great post. The fans have invested a lot of emotion and time into this team, if not more. I wonder how much revenue the school loses? Maybe a more productive punishment would let the kids play and maybe force the school to donate their profits to some charity, or even (cough) some NCAA byproduct.

Ha, I like the potential ambiguity because of Coach's name. Well played sir.

Maybe the organization needs to purchase a metaphorical cup for the NCAA dealings. Better Call Saul?
