If anyone wonders why the lack of fan support. SU's record for 13 years is 60 wins and 95 losses. This is from the last 3 years of Coach P, 4 years of Robinson, 4 years of Marrone, and thus far this year with Shafer. Lets not forget that the three times we made it to a bowl game, part way thru those seasons it looked iffy then the team pulled it out. Before anyone comes up with excuses. Remember excuses are for losers. College Football is a results business.

I'm not getting the angst with the OP. He's saying the same thing many others say in every attendance thread. The long time of being average at best and mostly worse, has worn on the fanbase and there has been a lack of interest. Not the first time it's been said, but I don't see why the vitriol.

agree he stated all facts and is a message board to share his thought. I've seen a lot worse on here bashing the program

Also: attendance everywhere not in the SEC is down.

Beleive it or not...even SEC attendance is not doing so hot. Read the thread about Auburn attendance. Student attendance is down as well all over the country.

In reality...SU attendance is up 17% this year.

That being said, we all know why the stadium isn't full...it's not rocket ship science.

There's no denying it. Winning solves most problems.

Was just about to write this same thing. I believe there was an article about Tennessee within the last couple of years and another SEC school.

Attendance is a big enough issue that some colleges have hired the marketing firm that is responsible for Sporting KC (MLS) which we had a thread about not too too long ago.

--> The reality, looking at the numbers. Maybe our attendance isn't what we want it to be if you attend a game, or looks dismal at times on TV but I'm going to be an optimist here for the first time in 2 months and say that our attendance is actually really freaking good compared to what it should be given the below average product we've seen as a whole.

not only the numbers but the engagement of the crowd and noise during times it was actually competitive was really and surprisingly good given what happened in that dome this year. I was pleasantly not just surprised but shocked. No this is not the year to be on the fans in any way shape or form.

Tone.

"Remember excuses are for losers".

Insightful.

Its been bad, with not one sniff off the the top 25 since Dwight . I'll be back with seasons for the 28th straight year...... Its not logical but I'll be back. Desperate for a good football team though.
