You attacked me for pointing out that the schedule was brutal.    I was hoping they weren't going to get mauled.    What I didn't think would happen is that they would lose to Maryland and NCSt at home.     Neither loss was a result of talent or injuries.

Saturday they had the ball twice in plus territory in the middle of the 3rd quarter up 14-9 with a chance to take control of the game and by the end of that second possession were down 17-14.    That result was not because of injuries to the OL because the two possessions prior they had extended TD drives.

The Phil Montgomery stuff is half tongue in cheek, and I would never support removing Shafer, unless the school was committed to spending money and going for an upgrade.

Would I trade Shafer for the guy that has been by Briles side since they were at Houston, absof'inglutely.

Short of that, probably not.

But three and nine if it comes to that is bad.   And the offense is heading towards Grobian territory, in fact after Sat. the ranking for scoring offense and passing efficiency is where they offense ended 2008.   To be held to 38 yds rushing by a team that was ranked 90th and allowing 181 yds is horrible, even taking the OL issues into account.

This team is has better than 3-9 talent.   I've seen 3-9 talent, I remember what it looks like, and this ain't it.   Going 3-9 with a top 40 defense is hard to get your head around.

Even with all the struggles, they are 65th in rushing, 82nd in passing.   Where they are awful is in scoring, passing efficiency, and 3rd down.
