If you rank by yards per play differential between o and d, we're 22nd

this feels like 2012 in a weird way

37 yards per punt (129th) while being 12th in number of punts negates everything

if we had the median yards per punt, we'd be 229 yards better off. being so bad is 25 yards per game. not even asking for them to be good

a fifty yard average would be a 63 yard per game difference

Our guys will get there. Right now they lose the ball in the lights or have alligator arms. Shrader is 50 percent. I would say 25 percent are QB misses and 25 are WR routes or drops. If we can get that figured out and get Shrader into the 60s this offense will hit the next level. We need to scheme in some more throws behind the LBs on playaction.

Rutgers hurts more for me. At home vs a team we played muchhh better than. Special teams hurt that game. Was prepared to lose @FSU, though it hurt way more than I thought it would. Good Cuse teams will always have trouble @FSU, @NCSU and @Wake. For legitimate reasons…or questionable ones.

Our "Super Seniors" have been major contributors--see DL and Elmore (when eligible). But it sure would have been nice to have Cooney return for another season.

It doesn't "balance" out -- a college football season isn't about equilibrium. It's about getting to bowl eligibility. Which is why those missed opportunities hurt.

its one thing to win games close and say they could flip. but in the rutgers game we were much the better team and had the bad calls and the gift field position mistakes and the blown chances and thats the reason it was close. Liberty was a close game but never really felt like Liberty was the better team MSU is like 7-1 and has won the close games and really hasnt been the better team in several games but still they won.

IMO this is our weakest schedule since we joined the ACC and maybe since 2010. Given our talent we really should have a 7-5 type of season. Things haven't broken our way so far. Hopefully that changes after the bye week.
