Just my opinion, but McNamara got fouled more than any shooter I can ever remember. He just never seemed to get those touch fouls on shots that we see called so often. He could have set the all time record in 4-point plays.

I remember having to follow this game on like “live” play by play text updates on the CBS website from work. Winning like that convinced me we would never be out of a game as long as Gerry was on the team, and for the most part that was true. Add his entire freshman season to this to 2005 and 2006 BETs and the guy was far and away the most clutch player I have ever seen.
