Syracuse lands a couple more: Winston Wenham, D, Ithaca/Northfield Mount Hermon, '13. Kevin Hutchings, M, Marcellus, '14 (plans to PG)

Winston Wenham, a post-graduate from Ithaca, NY started all 17 games at defense, always matching up against the opposition’s most skilled attackman. Before coming to NMH, Winston was a starting defenseman at nationally ranked Ithaca High School, where he helped lead his team all the way to the New York state championship game. At NMH, he led the team with an astounding 55 caused turnovers, single-handedly accounting for 30% of the team’s caused turnovers. He was also 3rd on the team with 71 ground balls. Winston picked up 6 or more ground balls in 5 different games, caused 5 or more turnovers is 3 different games, and even scored a goal in the game vs. Berkshire. He was also a member of the varsity soccer team at NMH, is the receipiant of this year’s Impact Award, and Winston will represent NMH in the WNESSLA Senior/PG all-star game. Next year, he will attend Syracuse University, where he hopes to contribute to the national powerhouse Orange lacrosse program.

I always like when SU gets Legacies. Winston's dad Mark was a grea defender for the Orange in the 80s. I liked what I saw in the Fairport game at CNS two seasons ago. Another year of maturity at prep school normally helps kids in the long run.

Saw something about a serious knee injury at some point in HS. Know anything about that?

No knee injuries, ever, just a broken leg in a skiing accident four years ago. He's as good as new.

Nick NYE from Marcellus was an all -American selection this year as a LSM who had 216 ground balls in 2 1/2 seasons is going to Marist.

Syracuse didn't even sniff this kid and he would toy with Hutchings in practice...way to go Desko.Looks like our wings on face-offs must be set for years to come
