The Marrone/Hackett era didn't feel like continuity on offense, because the year it took off, they completely changed the tempo, even if the plays were the same.  Would have liked to see where that could have gone in 2013 and beyond but that horse is long dead.

As for open practices, that would be nice, but I have no expectations.  I personally think coaches are way too paranoid, but there are very successful coaches who close everything, so I stopped criticizing it a couple years ago.  Not sure it's meant to be stealth or just a lack of distractions.  When Marrone started, first thing he did was open spring practices in 2009.  That was cool, and people responded to it.

Whatever he decides, I just hope Coach Babers doesn't completely waste a valuable Spring Game by going full vanilla because he's forced to let people watch.  If that's what you're going to do, just close it and make it more productive.  We'll get over it when he wins games.
