Since we can't seem to score 6 often enough from inside the 20 it's nice to have players that can break big plays from outside the red zone. In years past we've lacked the requisite players to break the "big one" but through 2 games that has turned around nicely. Instead of hoping for someone to make a big play knowing it won't happen, this year has been a great change on that front. Through 2 games we've already had the following:
Paul Mroz pass intercepted for a TD Corey Winfield return for 24 yds for a TD
Eric Dungey pass complete to Ervin Philips for 32 yds for a TD
Connor McHugh punt for 40 yds , Brisly Estime returns for 74 yds for a TD
Dontae Strickland run for 21 yds for a TD
John Wolford pass intercepted for a TD Donnie Simmons return for 41 yds for a TD
Eric Dungey pass complete to Brisly Estime for 89 yds for a TD
Eric Dungey pass complete to Steve Ishmael for 53 yds for a TD
7 TD's over 20 yards (some much longer) from 6 different players. Folks we may finally have a decent amount play makers on both sides of the ball.
