It's not looking good for Shafer if he's like the other guys in this prestigious club of bottom 4 season QB ratings

2014
Syracuse
UTSA (Larry Coker)
Indiana (Kevin Wilson)
SMU (June Jones gone already)

2013
Tulsa (Bill Blankenship still there, gotta be hot seat)
Kansas (Charlie Weiss gone)
Miami Ohio (Don Treadwell gone)
South Florida (Willie Taggart)

2012
Colorado (Jon Embree gone)
Hawaii (Norm Chow still there)
Kansas (Charlie Weiss gone)
Massachusetts (Charlie Molnar gone)

2011
Kent State (Darrell Hazell big improvement in 2012 jumped to purdue)
Kentucky (Joker Phillips gone)
Akron (Rob Ianello gone)
Florida Atlantic (Howard Schnellenberger gone)

2010
New Mexico St (Dewayne Walker gone)
UCLA (Rick Neuheisel gone)
Vanderbilt (Robbie Cladwell gone)
Buffalo (Jeff Quinn gone)

I'd love to see the list of coaches with a top 30 defense who got canned after one bad year.

Go ahead. I'll wait.

even this guy is smart enough to give you an example after about a half a second of thought

i don't want to throw too much math at you hear but 4th worst and 30th best are not equivalent

one more thing. Shafer isn't top 30 this year or last year in d ypg

Cherry picking king, ladies and gents! Millhouse wins stat-wars 3 because he's mighty fine at manipulating data and splitting hairs.

Even Mushchamp got 3 seasons.

Bottom line is this: There is no coach who in his second year after going bowling and finishing 7-6 - followed by a season where he played 3 freshman QB's and finished 3-9 WITH a top 40 D (better?) that doesn't deserve another year. None.

We get it - the offense needs to get better. Yup. That's obvious.

you tried to be a smartass which is fine but you should probably use your head first

bottom line there is no coach in his second year with a kid named after van halen with the same first and last initials who wears visors...
