The 2012 FBS Private School Football Rankings for Week 3 are here. A slight shuffle in the line-up as Wake Forest (following their 1-point win over UNC) replaces Vanderbilt in the list of 8 schools receiving votes in the AP and Coaches' polls. USC still leads the pack, though Syracuse's performance cost them some votes and even knocked them down to 3rd in the Coaches' poll. Stanford's thrashing of Duke allowed them to slip ahead of Notre Dame and place them in 3rd in the Private School poll. Rice surprised by winning at Kansas. Only three teams remain winless, with Syracuse and Vanderbilt both playing respectable schedules. Tulane continues its cellar position after getting crushed by Tulsa. Tulane's Devon Walker suffered a fractured spine when he collided with a teammate. Sagarin ranks Tulane as the 174th "best" football team in the land... note that there are only 124 FBS teams. Reminder: the other two polls are not out yet. The Harris Poll typically comes out after week 6, and the Legends Poll comes out after week 3.
