It will be a familiar road for the defending NCAA Champions this season, when seven of the the Syracuse cross country teams eight 2016 meets will be repeat events from last season, head coach Chris Fox announced. The women are coming off of a historic season as well after recording the second highest finish in program history at nationals and look to continue their success into the upcoming season. The Orange's first test will be one of its closest to home, kicking off the 2016 season at the Harry Lang Invitational at Colgate on Sept. 3. A week later, the Orange will head back to State College, Pa. for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational. Orange graduate Margo Malone was the top finisher on the women's side at the meet last season for SU, something that would happen in all-six of her meets. After a one-week layoff, Syracuse will take on its new event to the schedule, heading to ACC rival Virginia for the Panorama Farms Invitational on Sept. 23, before the men's team looks for its third-straight title at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Oct. 14. The Wisconsin Adidas Invite is one of the largest meets in the nation, with 'Cuse taking back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. Rising junior Justyn Knight finished second overall for SU at the event last year to lead the way.
