The United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) announced Wednesday the player pool for the inaugural draft to field its four teams – Baltimore Ride, Boston Storm, Long Island Sound and Philadelphia Force.
"The talent pool heading into today's draft is a great sign for what lies ahead and for the future of the league," said UWLX commissioner Michele DeJuliis.
More than 250 players entered the pool from January 1 through March 30, 2016. North Carolina and Syracuse lead with 14 and 13 players, respectively, while Maryland and Northwestern trail with 10 draftees each. Seven other teams are represented by five graduates or more – Loyola (9), Hofstra (7), Virginia (7), UMass (6), Florida (5), James Madison (5) and Princeton (5).
