For a team that lost some key guys and now needs to develop their next rising stars, losing the majority of a fall development season seems huge. I’m sure guys are still working on their own, and who knows, maybe having a semester away from the game will make them hit the new season hard, but if they struggle early, this could be a big reason why. In one of the oddest stories I can recall, however, an outbreak of mumps has prompted the suspension of team activities, so the first time we get to compare Syracuse to an outside opponent will be in the spring.
