Saints feel good about finish in boys soccer opener
Jones had a chance to tie the score twice, but a penalty kick try and a header on a corner kick found the goal post and not the net. The header took a fortuitous bounce right back to Spindler to end that threat while the penalty kick struck the post and deflected wide left.
Spindler also made a handful of timely saves as Pallotti's kick-and-run attack set the Panthers up with a handful of quality chances in both halves.
"Their No. 7 (Jones) could take the ball out of the air on a pass from 60 yards out," said Hennings, who dropped an extra defender to help contain Jones.
