2018 All-ILWomen High School Team 30 players from 11 states have been selected to the All-ILWomen High School Team. The annual list honors the best student-athletes in the high school game from around the country. All of this year’s honorees have committed to perennial or emerging college powerhouses. Sarah Cooper, Notre Dame Prep (Md.), Defense, Sr. | Commitment: Syracuse A leader on Notre Dame Prep’s backline, Sarah Cooper helped the Blazers do what no team could for nearly a decade — beat McDonogh. Cooper anchored a defense that held the Eagles to their lowest offensive output in three years in a 10-8 win in the IAAM title game. She finished her senior season with 42 ground balls and an Under Armour All-America nod. Meaghan Tyrrell, Mt. Sinai (N.Y.), Attack, Sr. | Commitment: Syracuse Meaghan Tyrell was named Suffolk County Rookie of the Year in 2015 and never looked back. The soon-to-be Orange won four county titles, three state and Long Island championships and a gold medal at the US Lacrosse National Championship. She played on the 2017 Under Armour Underclass team, was a 2017 and ‘18 US Lacrosse All-American and was an Under Armour All-American this year. As a senior, she totaled 59 goals, 38 assists and 21 ground balls. She was the 2017 New York State Tournament MVP. Caitlyn Wurzburger, American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), So. | Commitment: Syracuse Caitlyn Wurzburger has been powering through the high school ranks since seventh grade. She’s posted over 100 goals and 100 assists in each of the last three seasons, including a 105-goal, 116-assist line this year. Her speed, agility and a high lacrosse IQ have allowed her to remain dominant even as the target on her back — and the number of teams who faceguard her — grows. A three-time All-American and Under Armour Underclass selection, Wurzburger led American Heritage-Delray to a Florida High School Athletic Association state championship. At season’s end, she added her third straight Sun Sentinel Player of the Year award and Brine/US Lacrosse Magazine South Girls’ Player of the Year to her resume. Wurzburger is the 2018 Heather Leigh Albert Award recipient.
