HEALTH RISKS DUE TO CORONAVIURS CUT TBL SEASON SHORT
All Patroons season ticket holders will be contacted by team officials within the next week.
Indianapolis IN, Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League announced a bold solution to the current Coronavirus Situation in the world and sporting events. Effective today there will be no more regular season games played in current venues. The facts of the health risks to fans/players coupled with the reaction of the universities (where some teams play) and NCAA leagues cancelling their conference tournaments, this is the most responsible move TBL can make.
The 3rd year league will host a 4 day all league tournament, without fans, March 19 - 22 in Owensboro KY at the Owensboro Sports Center. The format will be: * Teams seeded 5-12 play on Thursday * Winners of Thursday play teams 1-4 on Friday
* Consolation games Saturday followed by the winners from Friday which are the Final 4
* TBL Championship Game is Sunday the 22nd
* Times of games and match ups will be announced on all TBL social media platforms Thursday the 12th.
Games will be live-streamed via @SportsCastrLive “We are #adifferentleague and as such always want to keep our players and fans health as top priority. At the same time, we owe it to our teams to give them more opportunities to be seen as well as a true championship that they all play for”. Evelyn Magley CEO
In addition TBL has planned a summer league to be played in Las Vegas this summer during the time of the NBA Summer league, when the worlds’ scouts converge in one market looking for players. As a league our core tenet is to help players get seen and this event will be free of charge to current and former TBL players. With the success of TBL players around the world, this helps pre-qualify our guys and draw the best scouts and interest.
Lastly TBL Tours is a new division that will take current and former TBL players around the world, free of charge, to other countries to showcase their talents and help secure more opportunities while doing camps/clinics for youth in those communities.
We would like to thank our faithful fans for their great support and our great Team Market Owners for doing what is right for their players and communities.
Looking forward to an even bigger year 4... For info: * David@thebasketballleague
