More than 300 Orange student-athletes earned 2021-22 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition, including 35 who achieved the honor for four consecutive years. The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.
Men's lacrosse standout Brett Kennedy is one of nine ACC student-athletes to make the ACC Honor Roll for the sixth time and eight Orange student-athletes earned the honor for the fifth time, including Brendan Curry (lacrosse), Jessica DiGirolamo (Ice hockey), Nicholas DiPietro (lacrosse), Dana Gardner (volleyball), Emily Hawryschuk (lacrosse), Dominic Hockenbury (track & field), Grant Murphy (lacrosse) and Yuliia Yastrub (volleyball).
Syracuse's four-time honorees include Basil Aburn (lacrosse), Jacopo Bertone (rowing), Emma Braun (rowing), Shelby Calof (ice hockey), Claire Cooke (field hockey), Sarah Cooper (lacrosse), Dakota Davis (football), Silas Derfel (cross country/track & field), Laura Dickinson (cross country/track & field), Pete Fiorini (lacrosse), Julio Fulcar (soccer), Ben Goldhar (soccer), Emma Gossman (rowing), Elena Karakasi (volleyball), Joseph Kelly (football), Ellie Lawler (cross country/track & field), Marielle McHale (ice hockey), Mariana McManus (cross country/track & field ), Abygail Moloughney (ice hockey), Meghan Root (soccer), Katharine Ryan (rowing), Matt Scrape (cross country/track & field), Polina Shemanova (volleyball), Jenna Tivnan (soccer), Sofya Trescheva (tennis), Meghan Tyrrell (lacrosse).
For the second year in a row Syracuse University Athletics ranked in the top 10 among Power 5 schools Graduation Success Rate (GSR). Syracuse's GSR – 95% -- is the highest at Syracuse since the NCAA started measuring the GSR. For each of the past three years Syracuse's GSR has increased to a new record level. Eleven athletics teams achieved a perfect 100 percent GSR, which is also the highest total in Syracuse history. In May, more than 125 Orange student-athletes from each of Syracuse's 20 teams graduated from eight of Syracuse's schools and colleges with a collective 3.14 grade point average.
