I didn't get the sense he wants a roster that small right away, but saying that and then starting off the season with a 60+ roster probably isn't in his plans either.

I would be more upset if he adds guys just to add them, but it would be nice to see an impact player added, if just for the fact it would mean someone buys into the new coaching staff. It did seem that for a stretch every guy being added to the portal was met with "Must be getting a call from Gait soon ...".  Now that doesn't look to be the case.  We will of course get a better picture when recruits can start committing and this anxiety can go away.
