The South Atlantic Conference took the top two seeds in the South. Limestone finishing 4th in that conference shows you their depth.
Lenoir Rhyne got shafted having to potentially face Tampa in the quarters, while Wingate gets the #2 seed and faces Indy. I’d have like to see a LR/Tampa semi.
I watched a couple of dozen or more SAC games this season because my kid is headed to that conference in the fall, and I only saw LeMoyne play once (StRose) so I don’t have a really good handle on how good the NE10 might be this season. I’m a Phin alum and know how strong the NE10 is but man I was really impressed with those teams in the SAC. Hate to make predictions because the north is so good but I really like the champ to come out of the South bracket.
I think it’s absurd there are 71 division 2 schools and only a 10 team tournament.
