Not many Europeans are playing more links golf throughout the year. Apparently Whistling Straits doesn't play as linksy according to some (although I struggle to explain why) .I don't see that big of an advantage. Just look at Recent British Open and the US is not really at a disadvantage. They tend to do well. I counted 17 Americans in the top 10 at the last 3 British Open. It's about the same split as US Open the last 3 years.
