I think they already did.Hmmm, I hope this doesn't mean they're going to let Hill go.
Another once fantastic player in serious decline. Let's collect them all!
His stats for last year aren't great. Paying for a player's prior abilities once again?Another once fantastic player in serious decline. Let's collect them all!
Still better than what he had last yearHis stats for last year aren't great. Paying for a player's prior abilities once again?
That was a very low bar.Still better than what he had last year
What do you think they should of done then? That was a very low bar.
I don't run the team, but I'd rather they fill their needs at first and third with younger players than Goldschmidt or Arenado (if they bring him in also). Maybe that's Alonso or another younger guy with upside. I don't have a problem with Bellinger who is still only 28 and could find it again, and plays multiple positions. But riding with guys like this (or DJ, Donaldson or Rizzo when they were clearly shells of their former selves) never seems to work out very well. What do you think they should of done then?
Alonso would be nice but being realistic I think Goldschmidt might work out well.Good 2nd half last year could mean he still has some left in the tank.I think we are better off today than we would have been had Soto stayed with us.Still need a 2nd or 3rd baseman but our defense should really be improved.I don't run the team, but I'd rather they fill their needs at first and third with younger players than Goldschmidt or Arenado (if they bring him in also). He's 37. I wouldn't be counting on it. I'm sure he's still serviceable, but his many excellent years are almost certainly behind him.Goldschmidt was the NL MVP two years ago. I bet he's going to be in contention for comeback player of the year in 2025.
I get that, but he's a viable option if you don't want to do this dance every year. I would just prefer a longer term solution there.Goldschmidt we can rent for a year.
We weren't getting Alonzo unless we locked him up to a multi-year deal at $20M+ per.
You might be able to get a 3rd baseman on a long term deal now.Cant have everythingI get that, but he's a viable option if you don't want to do this dance every year. I would just prefer a longer term solution there.
I remember in 2018-19 when he hit over .270 with 62 HRs, shortstop seemed solid for a decade. But "the best laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft a-gley."Gleyber's Day...
One year $15 million is not bad for a good offensive 2B. We will see if whomever the Yankees add 2B or 3B is an improvement. I am skeptical.Gleyber's Day...
1-year, $15 million.
