No dig to the Yankee crew.  They do a fine job.

The Mets group just operates at a different level.  They tell it like it is (clearly unlike Kay), they know the game really well and they have a unique chemistry that makes games fun to watch even when the Mets are playing poorly.

Kudos to Mets management for letting their announcers criticize the Mets players, coaches and front office when it is called for.  I think the thing that makes the Mets announcers really good is that they are fair.

When something bad happens, they will call it out.  They do not make excuses.  I think they know the Mets fan base has been through a lot and don't want to hear a bunch of BS when things are going bad.  So they tell it like it is and we Mets fans appreciate the honesty.
