I was living in the Washington, D.C. area but was in Syracuse to observe Yom Kippur with my parents who lived in Syracuse. We stayed to the end of the Yom Kippur service, went to a relative's house for a very quick break fast, and someone drove us to campus. I think we arrived at the game in the middle of the first quarter. Interesting footnote: the crowd for that game was the largest in Dome history: 50,564. And Syracuse beat Miami (Ohio) 36-24. I've never forgotten the score of that game. (Other teams we played that year were Ohio St., Northwestern, Kansas, Temple, Penn St., Rutgers, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Navy, and Boston College.)
