On the topic of Marquis, I wonder if he eventually transfers to SU. As has been documented on here, he’s best friends with Deere & the 2 were rumored to be a potential package deal throughout their recruitment. Deere was originally class of ‘22 before re-classing & prepping at Salisbury. I wonder if playing righty attack alongside Deere (lefty) & Spallina in Orangeville this Summer & next sways him. I would’ve loved to see Marquis redshirt this year at Hop to put distance between him & SU’s current attack instead of randomly playing 4 games with a single goal on 3 shots. He played a February game vs Loyola & then didn’t see another minute until their final 3 games of the year in May. He was in street clothes for a few of their early games, including vs SU if memory serves, so maybe an injury redshirt is possible but it’ll be tough because he played their last 3. Unlike Deere, Marquis has the athleticism to play middie.

Keep in mind that John Grant Jr. likely played a role in Marquis choosing Hop. He was let go last mid-May, just prior to Marquis arriving on campus. I recall Marquis expressing disappointment over it in a tweet that he appears to have since deleted.
