But it's weird, because Kawhi opted out in the summer of 2021 to sign a 4 year max deal with the Clippers.  So, no one else could have paid him any more than they did already.  And also, he was rehabbing an ACL injury and didn't play a single game in the 21-22 season.  So they were so desperate to circumvent the cap for a guy that 1) they could already pay more than anyone else and 2) was out with a torn ACL?    I don't want to be 100% dismissive of this just because its at least a little shady and you never know, but...

"How he arrived at the Knicks is interesting".  Just hilarious to me because the idea that the general consensus that the Knicks got this incredible deal when they signed Brunson in 2022 is just not even close to the reality.  The extension he signed last summer is certainly a different story.
