Fall Ball at Colgate today.

First game was SU 11 -Colgate 3. Probably 8-0 at the end of 3rd Q with starters in. D and Daniella looked very good, as did the middie depth. Rotated a bunch of girls in at attack.

Second game was SU 9 - Lemoyne 1 at the half when I left.

General observations, expanded green cards are going to be an abomination this year. There was easily double a standard game from last year in the first scrimmage. Draws are still a work in progress for the Orange. Guzak, Mistrella and Maclay took them in the first game a half and did ok, probably won just over 50% which won’t cut it in the regular season.

One other thing I don’t think I’ve seen reported. It seems as if Emma Ward is also part of the coaching staff. She was on the sidelines calling in offensive sets and coaching up the offense when they came off the field.

I don't think she is technically part of the staff as they have 4 assistants? I'd call her more of a grad assistant.

Are you thinking this is a year with talent mostly below the top tier? Likely a top 10-15 squad?

I'll say we will have clearer picture at the end of the month after we have played couple more games.

Agree with this statement. I’m sure there will be a better feel after Army, Harvard, Penn and Rutgers. I don’t know if they are a top five team just yet, but I think if they can shore up the attack and get some steady contributions from a newcomer or two they will be better than 10-15. They will play pretty much everyone in the top ten, so I guess we will find out fairly quickly when the season starts…

I think Volpe staying healthy is key she is such a dynamic threat when at 100 percent if we have even seen her at 100 percent. Haven’t seen her in any of this years fall photos I’m hoping she’s just being saved for spring. Cotter is another player I’m expecting a massive season from. She came out last year red hot numbers seemed to trail off a bit at the end of the season but she is an elite competitor
