[QUOTE="Powellfan, post: 5526063, member: 4819"] It seems like the top rotation of SSDMs will be Kittelberger, Bowen, Ochoa and I am guessing Jake Spallina? I feel like you usually need five guys you can rely on throughout the season. I wonder if someone else will emerge to challenge this group? I was wondering/hoping one of the injured freshman last year might contribute here, but it looks like McIntee is playing offense full time (and it sounds like he's doing well there, also a need) and Koby White isn't on the roster (hopefully it's an oversite). Looking at the roster, it's hard to guess who might challenge for a SSDM role. Pike and Schell are both massive at 6'3 220 and 6'4 225 , but I don't think you usually see a SSDM that heavy. Nate LeVine was 6'3 210, so perhaps, but do they have the foot speed and lateral movement? Does Carter Kempney give it another shot? At 163 he always looked a bit slight to me for that role. Maybe one of the longpoles moves to short stick, but we haven't heard of that happening (Bolognino has moved to LSM full time). Haven't seen Kittleberger play but it sounds like he checks all the boxes. It does make me nervous to rely on a freshman for that role, but Carter Rice stepped in and did pretty well from day one. Bowen, again, don't know much about, but the size sounds promising and it seems like he's fitting in well with the team. Ochoa drove me a bit crazy last year, but LeVine went from a big question mark to a pretty good SSDM by the time he was a junior, so hoping Ochoa can make that leap. Spallina shows good fight, if you don't have to rely on him to be a starter I think you are in good shape. Curious to see who the starters are. I would guess Ochoa and Bowen given their experience?
