Looking over the schedule a few things jumped out to me. 1) I guess the "Wells Fargo" is now the Truist, and since Quail Hollow is the PGA Championship, it is replaced by Wissahickon in Philly... never heard of Wissahickon hopes its an interesting course. While continuity amongst courses is good for familiarity, as a fan I also want some changes too in prominent tournaments. 2) Talking about continuity. Same old, same old in the playoffs. Southwind, East Lake. Yawn. This would be like MLB only having 3 sites for the playoffs, and 2 of them always being the Big Owe in Montreal and the dull White Sox stadium. I understand FedEx is in Memphis, but Southwind was a low tier course on the tour for many year. I don't know when the deal is up on East Lake, but I hope it ends soon. It would be great to rotate the final. 3) As for the major sites, and the 3 that rotate, it's a fairly strong year - Oakmont and Portrush are amongst my couple of favourites in the US Open and Open rotations. - Quail Hollow is OK I suppose, but there are more interesting on the PGA Championship rotation. Sometimes I find regular tour stop lack "allure" as majors. 4) Now played 2 of the courses on Tour - Memorial Park in Houston was an inexpensive muni that I played in 2000 while working in Houston that was just OK. So surprised to see that it has been revamped upwards into a PGA tour tournament. - Osprey Valley north of Toronto. Always highly respected as a upper-mid public course Toronto fee wise, not sure if it fits the stature of a St George or Hamilton. But its always interesting to see how pros play the course you are familiar with. 5) Once again the Canadian Open gets the worst weekly spot on the tour schedule - smack in the middle of 2 elevated events and one major. I have complained enough about that in the past, so I will leave it at that. It is what it is at this point.
