While Melo always will have the lack of nba titles as a knock against him, there are few better examples of how prosperity through being a student athlete can lead to so much more in being a businessman and a parent as well as an icon that millions can look up to. Was extremely glad he got this opportunity to be connected to SU for much more than his basketball achievements.

It’s so cool to watch him grow into and embrace the statesmen role for Syracuse and the basketball world that he worked so hard for (maybe didn’t even know that this would be his future during his playing days). He has earned all of it. Truly feels like he knows the best moments in his life have yet to come. I’m sure everyone feels older today thinking about the present and current moment and the imminent future. I mean the guys son is suiting up for Cuse in 6 months lol.

He did it without a written speech, without a single note, and without a teleprompter. It was seriously wonderful.

Maybe Melo already does this and I don't know about it but Melo would be an absolute great motivational speaker at schools talking to kids about making right choices and believing in themselves.

Honestly, that is one of the best and the most impressive meaningful and concise speeches I’ve ever seen anybody give anywhere for any event. My jaw is dropped that that’s the same kid that was here in 2003.

What an amazing growth curve, metamorphosis, and evolution. What he just did there is beyond impressive. I have been doing public speaking in one form of another for 35 years in many many settings hundreds of times in front of hundreds and not once was able to do it without some set of notes.

Like he was on the basketball court, the kid is an absolute natural, As impressive a speaking display as I have ever seen. Wow
