Think an additional big factor is the the lvy league making less of an impact than in previous years. Those schools offer the same elite degree and career networking, but kids that also want to compete on memorial day weekend seem to be less likely to choose Ivy. Princeton is maybe the only school that is getting consistent solid recruiting classes these last couple years. Cornell Yale and Penn have been inconsistent at best recently. Harvard and Dartmouth are making some moves so far this year, but it has not been a strong start for several of the more prominent Ivys. Whether they are justified or not, there may be some concerns about how much the Ivy league values lacrosse. The 4 year rule has certainly been more of a crutch in the covid-year era. Someone said there was a rumor coach Posner at Lawrenceville is steering kids away from Ivys. Whatever the reason, this is the second year in a row with the ACC landing a ton of the highly regarded private/prep school guys that in years past may have chosen a Cornell or Yale. Duke/Dano are clearly elite on the recruiting trail, but I wish the fact they were not able to get it done in recent years, despite class after class loaded with 5 stars and a generational talent in Oneill, gave some of these kids/families pause. All that talent and they were still doing things like losing to UNC without freaking Owen Duffy. Been a long time since there was a shakeup on the staff, and IMO Danowski Jr. has not shown an ability to get the most out of his offensive talent as an OC.
