2026 Transfer Thread

people are going to assume hop is the favorite because of hackler and monfort but i am hearing notre dame...they lose chris kavanagh and taylor after this season and there's not much experience on attack behind them. if chauvette and ayers work out for hop then they are only going to have one opening on attack next year with melendez gone...yale has its own "pipeline" to ND with tevlin a few years back...would be surprised if it's not them

I would think ND makes a lot of sense. They do bring in two five star attackmen in the '25 class (Teddy Lally and Cam Kelly) as well as an additional four star (Collin Kenney). Also will the Yale duo be okay playing with a relative unknown as their running mate for their grad year?

I am sure Duke and Maryland will also be in the mix. I thought they may have brought in a lot of grad transfers at attack with the thought they might be in play for the Yale duo next year, hence keeping their options open. UMD has a five star coming in next year (Matt Higgins) who Terp fans are high on, plus five star Spencer Ford this year. Duke has three top 50 attackmen in the '25 class. I'm sure this won't prevent coaches from taking these guys obviously, but something to keep in mind.

That brings me to Syracuse. No idea if they would even consider it, but the Orange could be an attractive destination. Joey Spallina as a running mate, plus a very good midfield of Finn Thomson, Michael Leo and Luke Rhoa round out what should be a very good offense. The big question is who plays that third attack spot for the Orange this year. If it's an underclassman, does that create a log-jam or hurt feelings? Still, as far as potential fit, I think Spallina would offer a lot to both players and compliment them very well.

Other very good attackmen are out there (Millon and Duffy come to mind), but both UNC and UVA are very well stocked when it comes to attackmen. I'm sure NIL will come into play here.

georgetown would be one to watch. we've seen them go all in on transfers before and lyons' mom played lacrosse there. but i still think notre dame is a big favorite

if i had to rank

1. nd
2. gtown
3. hop
4. maryland
5. duke
6. cuse
7. unc
8. uva

Maryland really doesn't get a lot of Ivy League transfers.
Maryland will have S.Ford, Higgins along with Erksa and Spanos for their senior years. All these attackmen are right-handed. Even if Johnny Gardiner pans out as a lefty, Tillman still might be looking for another left hander.

Michigan has been more of an Ivy League transfer destination, Although most of their transfers have come from Princeton.
