here's a list of some mids they've brought in the last several years, and it's not exclusive:
terenzi - top 5 recruit and been injured
burt - top 25 recruit and now ssdm
mccarthy - back half top 100 4 star  doesn't play
erdmann - back half top 100 4 star now ssdm
lagunowich - top 50 4 star and ssdm
hausmann - top 10ish recruit and ssdm

probably a few of those guys (and others) may have been targets after they whiffed on guys that duke, unc, nd, and a few ivies got.  what should they have done differently as i'm not sure what you're saying?

fwiw, i hope he does but duenkel may never be healthy enough to ever see the field.

their starting att from 2025 next year will be 4th, 3rd and 3rd in terms of eligibility. next year --- they may have 5 attackmen on the entire roster where you worry about "top ranked guys"!  5!  6 if you include a hobbled and maybe-never-plays duenkel. the starters, millon and browne.

browne i hope turns out ok, bc they may need him not far down the road as the starters are getting longer in the tooth, but i saw him live in the fall and... i'll stop there.

uva has a much larger potential problem coming up with the depth of their poles. they had 3 decent freshmen, and 2 got some time. they have schroter and a 2025 coming in for lsm.  after that, no experience.  hope nobody gets hurt.

p.s. and by stacking guys, i was talking about middies.  which a few teams have been woofing on, and there aren't as many around.
