As for UNC sports, the lacrosse culture there (and Duke) pales in comparison to what SU can offer.  Really only UMD can match us.   We had over 5k for our first round game this past spring.  UNC didn't break 2k.

I tend to think college rankings are vastly overrated (probably not to lax parents though).  I got a chuckle out of [USER=8261]nyclax[/USER] 's comment about the Fodor twins going to Johns Hopkins (about the least fun school there is) while the parents were both Rutgers alums (it was a nice little burn).  You can come up with a lot of reasons not to go to Rutgers, but the academic piece is pretty much pure vanity.  I mean the parents found $70k per year to send the boys to Delbarton.  They've obviously done pretty well with their Rutgers education.  There are five to ten truly elite schools, after that it comes down to alumni networks and regional preferences.

I think SU is trying to sell the program the best way it can.  Most successful program; best facilities; play for the greatest player ever (have at least four other guys in the coversation); spin the ball/place free; at the only school where lacrosse actually matters.
